Official Release of Shuvu Africa and the URI Program
Ahavat Ammi joyfully announces the release and the opening of the African Branch of Yeshivat Shuvu and Ahavat Ammi Ministries out of Harare, Zimbabwe in partnership with Higherlife Foundation as a hub for the work in Africa. This completed first phase includes a world-wide website for Africa and the establishment of a dedicated Yeshiva program by the name “Uri-Shine” for the dispersed African and African descendants.
In addition, information about the URI African program is available now on our newly designed website at https://af.shuvu.tv/ . Ahavat Ammi Ministries, together with Higherlife Foundation allocated over 300 scholarships which are now available for those who qualify.
Rabbi Itzhak Shapira commented:
“Africa represents prophetically, the single greatest opportunity in the Messianic missing puzzle piece today. Descendants of the seed of Israel are found virtually in every country in the great continent. With the release of the Uri program, we believe that the impact upon Africa and the African American community will be immediate. Groups like the Lemba, Igbo and several others need the training, equipping, and education to restore back to their roots and we are excited to be part of this restoration process. In addition, I firmly believe that the answer for the racial tensions in the US are found in the restoration path for the African American community in encountering the Jewish Messiah.”
Tsitsi Masiyawa the co-founder of Higherlife foundation who is appointed as the president of Shuvu Africa program commented:
URI Africa is one of the most important projects in our lifetime whose impact will be felt for generations to come. It’s meticulously done; a formidable program that takes you on a journey of indescribable intimacy and ones with the Jewish Messiah.
Pastor Matt McKeown who serves as the Uri Program Director commented:
“Uri Africa fulfills the vision of Zephaniah 3:10 ‘From beyond the rivers of Cush my worshipers, my scattered people, will bring me offerings.’ We have seen how thousands in Africa are coming to the Jewish roots of their Christian faith and Uri is the perfect vehicle to educate them as they learn more about their grafted-in status.”
The Uri Program will take roughly two years to complete and will be monitored and supervised by Dr. Doug Wheeler who will serve as the Academic Dean of the Uri Program. Dr. Wheeler commented:
“It is rare thing to see a dual blessing of a strong educational program that teaches one to fully understand and embrace the Jewish roots of their faith but also to take that education, that knowledge to change a continent. By joining Uri one is taking the first steps in fulfilling Zechariah 8:23- it shall come to pass that ten men of every language of the nations shall take hold of the tzitzit of a Jew saying, let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.”
